“ Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.”
While watching the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, I noticed several things as the athletes moved through the competition stages. At each stage, they exerted just enough effort to advance to the next round. However, in the finals, they gave it their all. The stages included the preliminary round, semifinals, and finals.
After all their training and preparation, their final placement would determine whether they won a medal, broke a record, or achieved a personal best. Just like the athletes, time is crucial in the race of life.
At each stage, we need to know how to adapt. As we progress through childhood, youth, middle age, and old age, we must adjust to the changes that come with aging.
Paul encourages us to run the race patiently, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion of our faith. He ran and was victorious; because of Him, we will also be victorious.
Let us use the time God has given us wisely and be spiritually prepared for each stage of our lives until that great day when we receive our crown.
Be Blessed…
